Outstanding Dutch experiences in the sphere of technologies applied to creativity and design will be the subjects of CulT Venezie-Salone Europeo della Cultura (European Culture Forum), due to take place from 21 to 23 November at Terminal San Basilio in Venice. The Netherlands is hosting the 4th edition of the event, entitled CULTURE 3D Design-Print-Manufacture. On Saturday 22 November there will be conferences and workshops with leading exponents of Dutch culture and creativity. The main objective of the event is to encourage an all-inclusive discussion and embark on fresh forms of collaboration between Italy and the Netherlands.

The CulT initiative has been arranged in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Italy, with the help of Creative Industries Fund NL and sponsorship of Transavia. It is curated by Wanda de Wit and is part of the “Olandiamo in Veneto” programme, a project conceived and organised by the Embassy and General Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Italy to promote and publicise the Dutch economy, culture and society in the Veneto region. Throughout 2014 and for a part of 2015 events are being staged all over the region to promote collaboration and partnerships between Netherlands and Veneto based on the many factors linking the two areas economically and culturally: water, tourism, history, wine and food, etcetera.

The CulT day’s programme includes three masterclasses, each lasting ninety minutes, given by protagonists of innovation, emblematic of a return to “crossover” creativity, where the end result is the product of collaboration among different yet complementary actors and skills, like happened in workshops of the past, without forgetting market demand: there will be talked about quirky games applied to daily life, natural dyes that produce edible scraps, and the 3D printing of furniture and even bridges.
